What do you have to do if death has already come?

If death has already come  - contact us immediately using the following phone numbers:

8-911-574-67-87, 8-962-947-50-79, 8-905-768-04-57

You must do this before contacting medical emergency and  police personnel. We will provide you with all necessary instructions that you must follow strictly. Only by following these instructions to the letter will cryopreservation be successful and of good quality. If you cannot reach us immediately for whatever reasons, you must follow the plan as follows.

INSTRUCTION

What do you have to do if the prospective cryopatient has just died

1. COOPERATION WITH FUNERAL AGENTS, PHYSICIANS AND MORTUARY WORKERS

  1. Particularly difficult cases for cryonization (logistically) are: death at home, death on the street, death by foul play or howsoever as a result of criminal activity. In any such an event, you must contact our cryocompany and our lawyers immediately, 24/7, preferably before you alert emergency services and certainly before their arrival.
  2. Try to avoid unwarranted transfer of the body to the forensic morgue, where autopsy is almost mandatory procedure, and release of the body is a lengthy and protracted procedure
  3. Do not conclude any agreements with a funeral agent before consulting us. All funerary arrangement can wait until later. It should be remembered that a funeral agent’s aim is to help you bury or cremate the deceased.  For the funeral agent to assist (and not to prevent) you from cryonizing your loved one, you must be sure that he or she is willing to cooperate in regard to cryoconservation. And this may not happen, because cryonics is not widely accepted or practiced., You must get instructions on cooperation with funeral agents, from us.
  4. If your loved one has passed away in the hospital, you should at once establish friendly contact with an attending physician, a chief of department or a head physician, to inform them on your intention to cryonize the patient and to let them see your cryocontract as soon as possible.
  5. You should write to a chief of department and/or a head physician a notice of refusal for autopsy  (The standard pretext is “for religious reasons”). Click here  to download an example text. Please, be sure to find out the right person in authority to whom to address the letter.
  6. Inform physicians that you are opposed to organ recovery from the patient, as organs for transplantation can by default be retrieved from any deceased person.  However, in accordance with the law, organs and/or tissues recovery from a deceased is not allowed, if as of the date of recovery, a health care institution is informed that this person, while alive, or his close relatives, or a legal representative have expressed their objection to it. The procedures and logistics of organ recovery will tend to conflict with those of cryopreservation. And there is no precedent for cooperation between organ harvest and cryonics. If you have any question, consult us.

2. COOPERATION WITH OUR CRYO COMPANY

To reiterate most emphatically: you must call to KrioRus as soon as possible and consult with us on all the issues entailed.

  1. Please, write down our phone numbers everywhere, and enter them also into the memory / address book of your cell phones. Experience teaches us that people whose loved one has died or is dying, are themselves in the state of shock, unable to think straight, and can make all manner of unexpected mistakes - for example, they can't find or remember the necessary phone numbers.
  2. Be ready to give us all the proper information: your full name, the patients full name, the location of the patient (address, hospital, department, ward, home), information on whether the patient is alive or already declared dead by physicians, when his death came; or if your relative is alive, what is the medical forecast; if your relative is at home, you must inform us, if medical ambulance or police are already on their way.
  3. You must give us your contact information, your main cellphone number, other phone numbers and other contact information.
  4. You must promptly decide if you are going to cryonize the deceased, the mode of cryoconservation (the whole body or neuropreservation), to discuss the contract and transportation options.

3. INITIAL COOLING

To rapidly cool a human body, cryocompanies use special techniques. But at home you also can start the cooling. Bear in mind, however, that this will be legal only after the doctor's official declaration of death. The most simple method is to place the body into a special bath with a highly cooled (close to zero temperature) slowly flowing water. But usually our patients’ relatives do not have such resources readily at hand. Nevertheless, there are many measures you can take.

  1. You should very politely but insistently demand access to the body in order to cool the head and the body with bags of ice or chemical coolants (if they are acquired in advance). You should get ice in advance – to buy it at the market, to take it from your freezer or borrow it from your neighbors. You can freeze ice in advance or even buy ice cream and other frozen products, and in case you have concluded a contract beforehand, you can take packages with chemical coolants from your cryonic kit.
  2. Then you should cool the head with ice in the following manner: Place ice in plastic bags, preferably together with a small proportion of liquid water, then tie them up air and water tight. Then  take as much ice as possible in order to cover the patient’s head completely, as well as the neck and chest from all sides, inguinal region and axillae. You should regularly (every 30 minutes pr so) adjust bags so they remain in close contact with the head, add ice and change bags when the ice melts.
  3. If possible, cover the whole body with ice bags.
  4. Attention! Prevent direct contact of ice with the skin. The tissues must not be frozen prior to the perfusion procedure! That is why the ice in the plastic bags must be sealed in with a small proportion of liquid water. Tie the ice bags up air and water tight, and then place them all over the patient’s body.
  5. If possible, you arrange liquid cooling with flowing highly cooled water in the ice bath. Preferably still more than 50% ice bags, and the rest flowing water. Please notice that liquid cooling with flowing water is cools the body far better than natural cooling at room temperature. During the cooling you must still be especially attentive to cool the head with the ice as instructed above.

We warn you that we are ready to assist in cryoconservation only under the following conditions:

- A person willing to carry out cryoconservation is an immediate heir of the deceased or a funeral director, or that the cryopreservation  will proced with the full consent of of all of the relatives, able to take decision about it;
- A person willing to carry out cryocoservation has at his disposal sufficient finances to pay for the initial cryopreservation stage ($2000 - 3000) and transportation, and he has a general possibility to pay for a long-term storage contract.

Best quality of cryoconservation can be achieved under the following conditions:

- The deceased is not buried;

- No more than several days have passed since the patient’s death.

Our phone numbers (24/7):

8-911-574-67-87

8-962-947-50-79

8-905-768-04-57

In case KrioRus considers that effective cryoconservation cannot be carried out, the company reserves the right to refuse to carry out the procedure.

 Please accept our condolences, do not lose faith and hope!
